We are breaking the mold of traditional orthodontists. At WAO, we go beyond traditional orthodontics because we believe oral health is essential to general health and well-being at every stage of life. Our approach involves fixing the cause of the condition and looking at everything from the inside out. And during the course of this journey, we will also give you a killer smile that will last a lifetime.
Dr. Bas Wafelbakker, DMD
Since 1985, Dr. Wafelbakker has been providing his patients with top-quality orthodontic care. He chose the oral health field because his grandfather was a dentist, and he enjoyed the mix of using his mind, his hands, and socializing all at the same time. Dr. Wafelbakker continues to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontics by participating and lecturing in education courses in both the U.S. and abroad.
Dr. Chris Anderson DDS, MSD
Dr. Anderson is a Bay Area native and joined Dr. Wafelbakker’s practice in 2006. He is passionate about making his patients feel comfortable in the office and helping them achieve a healthy bite and beautiful smile that will set them up for a lifetime of good oral health and confidence. His love for orthodontics stems from being able to utilize art, science, and technology to improve the lives of his patients, while forming lasting relationships with the families along the way. When not in the office, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife, Wendy, and two children, Ben and Molly.
We are proud supporters of our community. As a local business, we have continuously supported our community, including our schools. To date, we’ve given more than $675,000 in donations, scholarships, and charitable gifts.
WAO is where dentists go for their treatment. Dentists are confronted daily with the results of poor function such as teeth that break, jaw joints that hurt, muscle pain, gum recession, etc. They understand the importance of function more than anyone. We are the preferred office for their own treatment and the treatment of their families.
The Dentists' Orthodontist
Dr. Wafelbakker and Dr. Anderson, spend thousands of hours a year on continuing education in both the U.S. and abroad. They believe that orthodontics and dentistry are rapidly evolving and changing professions, and it takes a lot of continuing education to stay on the cutting edge. Both believe it is important to not only take continuing education courses in orthodontics, but also in many other dental disciplines. This allows them to communicate better with their referral community and to provide their patients with better care.
